Torcicoda Primitivo del Salento 2010

Torcicoda from the historical Tormaresca canteen is made entirely from Primitivo del Salento grapes of an intense ruby read colour with a notable violet tint; on aroma you can spot red fruit odours (raspberries and other small red fruits) with touches of vanilla and spices (liquorice). On taste in instantly feels velvety, with a lot of body, silky tannin with typically long acidic contents.

Salice Salentino Doc Riserva 2009 – Cantale

A sense of smell that plays on roses, wild fruit preserves, vanilla and chocolate milk. On taste it is creamy, quite soft and re-equilibrated by its discreet tannin weight; in line with the smell sense. Refined in barriques of second and third passages for six months, the wood takes away the tannin intrusion and grows the aromatic complexity without jumping the fruity sense that are typical of vats. To be drunk with beef or veal roasts, game or seasoned cheese.

Vigna Pedale Castel del Monte Rosso Doc 2009 – Torrevento

Torrevento can be found in Corato, just a short distance from Castel del Monte, spread out over an area of 200 Hectares in the most harsh and rocky part of Murgia. Here since the Second World War the brothers Domenico and Francesco Liantonio started producing wines that have gone on for generations, today concentrating particularly on Pugliese vines that reach the highest heights by critics and oenological guides just as (for example) the multi award winning Casteldelmonte DOC Nero di Troia Vigna Pedale.

Polvanera 17 Primitivo Gioia del Colle Doc 2009 – Polvanera

The name POLVANERA comes from the characteristic colour of the dark terrain that encircles the masonry. Next to the masonry is the modern canteen, truly welcoming with its rustic elegance and tasting room. The canteens structure has been dug out of the rock itself and reaches depths of 8 meters. The karst rock keeps the temperature and humidity constant all year around and this adds to the fundamental characteristics of beauty and practicality. Here there matures, rests and finishes off the POLVANERA wines that, along with other qualified producers, become reference trademarks of Doc Primitivo Gioia del Colle.

Salice Salentino Rosso Doc Selva Rossa 2009 – Due Palme

A story that commenced twenty years ago, made out of love for the territory, passion for quality and true know how. The Due Palme canteen, a cooperative company born in 1989 in Cellino San Marco, Brindisi in upper Salento, is the project of Angelo Maci, the third generation in a family of wine growers who with constant dedication has made this reality one of the biggest cooperatives that are most active in Puglia and Southern Italy.

Primitivo di Manduria Doc 2010 – Gianfranco Fino

The Primitivo of Manduria ES by Gianfranco Fino has been mentioned in Wine News as ‘Italy’s Best Wine’ (2009, 2010 and 2011). This declaration was born out of the mixture of results from the 6 major wine guides in Italy, only Primitivo ES and Sassiciaia have been unanimously voted by all of the guides for their ‘excellence’. The guides involved are: Gambero Rosso, Annuario Assoc., Italiana Sommeliers, Guida Vino Veronelli, Guida Vino L’Espresso, Slow Wine and Luca Maroni.

Tenute Al Bano Carrisi

A productive philosophy that gives voice to typical vines that reach a very high level of expression, in particular with Platone, a synthesis of Negroamaro and Primitove. An austere and deep wine.

Taurino

The Taurino family have managed in just a few short years to make known the wine culture of Puglia with its red wines, rosey wines and whites from Salento that are known all over the world. A large number of bottles of great quality.

Rivera

Winegrowing that stays true to quality and De Corato are in charge of the historical Rivera canteen. The whites lead the way, trustworthy wines that are very versatile on the table.

Podere 29

Structured wines with a good alcohol level that are never short of a true aromatic component. The two Gelso D’Oro and Gelso Nero reds are excellent. The potential of the Nero di Troia is also great, for some time now with its roots firmly in Foggia.
